Sam Lundstrom, Ph.D., was retained by attorney Jacob Lantry to assess damages in a case involving the alleged wrongful death of Cecile Druzba. Dr. Lundstrom’s assignment was to estimate the economic damages, and to rebut the damages opinions of the opposing economic expert.
Dr. Lundstrom prepared an expert economic report and gave deposition testimony. Dr. Lundstrom estimated the loss of income (net of taxes and personal consumption) due to Ms. Druzba’s death. He also argued that several of the damages components valued by the opposing expert (e.g., companionship and advice & guidance services) were not, in fact, economic. The case ultimately settled.
