What is economic and data consulting in litigation?
Economic and data consulting in litigation involves using specialized expertise in economics, statistics, and data analysis to support legal cases. At Cirque Analytics, we tend to focus on quantifying damages—determining the financial impact of disputes, such as lost profits, business valuation, or other economic losses. Our team digs into the numbers, analyzes complex datasets, and translates findings into clear, defensible insights that attorneys and courts can rely on. In some cases, such as those related to epidemiology and health outcomes, we also do work related to liability itself.
In practice, this means we help clients and their law firms by:
- Calculating precise monetary damages based on evidence and economic principles.
- Providing expert testimony to explain our analyses in court.
- Uncovering trends or patterns in data that strengthen a case.
Fundamentally, our role is to take the chaos of evidence and data and bring clarity to the financial stakes, ensuring our clients have the strongest possible foundation for their claims or defenses. Our work often relates to intellectual property, antitrust, labor & employment, and other business disputes. You can read more about our practice areas here.

We have consulted for some of the largest firms and organizations in the world, like Apple, Nike, the NFL, MLB, NCAA, JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Bank of America, and Visa. We also work for small and local firms that may be less recognizeable, but are involved in important litigations. We partner with scores of law firms of all types–global “Big Law” powerhouses and local solo practioners, and everything in between. You can read more about Our Clients here.
